How to share HTML slides from Claude or Gemini as a link anyone can open
Quick answer
To share your presentation, get the deck out of Claude, Claude Code, or Gemini as one .html file, host it where its scripts can run, and send the link. Claude share links require viewers to sign in to Claude, and Gemini share links open only on gemini.google.com. On Convika, you upload the file in the dashboard, test the slides in a private preview, and publish so the deck opens at its own address in any browser where arrow keys and buttons move the slides and you see how many opened it. The free plan gives you 1 published page with no credit card.
Free plan: no credit card, 1 published page, 10,000 pageviews a month.
On this page
You asked Claude or Gemini for a presentation and got slides that run in a browser. You have one HTML file where arrow keys move between slides and a chart sits on slide 4. You need a link that a client, your team, or a meeting room opens on a laptop or phone without signing in to the AI tool. This guide shows what Claude's and Gemini's own sharing does, how to get the deck out as a file, and how to publish it as a link with Convika.
What Claude's and Gemini's share links do
- A Claude Share link opens only for people signed in to Claude. Anthropic's sharing guide states: “Everyone needs a Claude account. People without one can't open a shared artifact, even with the link. The only exception is a legacy artifact published from a chat,”. The Anyone with the link setting is available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. It is not available on Free plans. Artifacts made in a chat before September 16, 2026, remain publishable on Free, Pro, and Max. Anyone with that link opens it without an account.
- Claude Code's public links are where Anthropic's pages disagree. Claude Code's docs state that a page published from Claude Code can be shared with “no claude.ai sign-in required,” on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. For Team and Enterprise, the Owner must turn public sharing on first. The sharing guide lists legacy artifacts as the only exception. Before you send one, open it in a private browser window. Check that it loads without signing in.
- A Gemini share link opens only on gemini.google.com. In Canvas, click Share & export, then click Share to generate a
g.co/gemini/sharelink. Google's Canvas help notes: “Shared links only open in gemini.google.com,”. The Gemini mobile app cannot open them. Anyone who opens the link can copy it and keep editing in their own Canvas.
| What a shared deck needs | Claude Share link | Gemini share link | The same deck on Convika |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it opens | claude.ai, for people signed in to Claude | gemini.google.com, not the Gemini app | Any browser, at the deck's own address |
| Your own domain | No, a claude.ai link | No, a g.co/gemini/share link | 1 subdomain on Free, such as slides.yourbrand.com |
| How many people opened it | Not described in Anthropic's docs | Not described in Google's help | Visits, referrers, devices, and countries for 90 days |
| Cost | Link sharing on Pro and above | Included in Gemini | Free, or Pro at $12 a month |
If they'll edit the deck, send a slides file instead. Per Anthropic's artifact guide, a deck made from Claude's Slides template exports to PowerPoint and PDF, or goes straight to Google Slides. In Gemini Canvas, Google's help says Export to Slides opens slides in Google Slides. It provides a PDF export too. The rest of this guide covers a deck that is an HTML file.
Getting the deck as one HTML file
From a Claude chat
In the chat where you made the deck, ask, word for word: “Give me this deck as one HTML file, with the CSS and JavaScript inline. The arrow keys and the buttons on screen should move between slides.” Copy the code from the reply, or download the file if Claude attaches one. If you made the deck in a chat before September 16, 2026, Anthropic's artifact guide says to “use the controls at the top of the artifact panel to view the code, copy the content, or download it.”
From Claude Code
Claude Code writes a page to a file before publishing anything. Its docs state that unless you name a location, “Claude writes the page to an HTML or Markdown file in a temporary directory outside your project,” and writes elsewhere if you do. So name the folder: “Build the deck as one HTML file, slides.html, in this folder.” In Anthropic's post on HTML with Claude Code, Thariq Shihipar suggests putting work into “a long HTML document, an interactive explainer or even a slideshow/deck,” and adds: “As long as you upload the HTML file, you can share the link easily” (Claude blog, May 20, 2026). The /slides command takes a different route. Per Claude Code's docs, it creates a Claude Slides artifact, edited and presented on claude.ai.
From Gemini Canvas
If Canvas built the deck as code, click Code at the top right of the Canvas panel, and copy the whole file. If Canvas made a React app and you need plain HTML, first ask Gemini: “Convert this deck to a single HTML file with the CSS and JavaScript inline, no build step.” If Canvas made slides instead of code, ask Gemini to rebuild: “Make these slides one HTML file, with the CSS and JavaScript inline, and arrow keys to move between slides.” To edit in Google Slides, select Export to Slides. Paste the code straight into Convika in step 3.
Share your deck as a link in 5 steps
Get the deck as one HTML file
Use one of the ways above to get your deck. Convika hosts 1 HTML file per page, so the deck's CSS and JavaScript go inside that file. Google Fonts, Tailwind, and libraries such as Chart.js or reveal.js load from their CDNs. Images built into the file count toward the size limit. An image pointing to a file on your computer won't load online.
Create a free Convika account
Sign up at app.convika.com. The Free plan requires no credit card and includes 1 published page.
Upload the deck
From the dashboard, choose Upload an HTML file. Drop the file on the Upload a file tab, or select Paste code and paste your code. Convika accepts .html and .htm files up to 2 MB. Your page name comes from the deck's <title>. Select Create my preview. Uploading uses no AI credits.
Try the slides in the private preview
Once you see “Your preview is ready,” click Open preview. The deck's scripts run in the preview as on the live page. Press the arrow keys, click its buttons, and check that fonts and charts look as in Claude or Gemini. Your preview link is private and works for 3 minutes; click Open preview again for a new one. Nothing is public yet.
Publish and send the link
Click Publish page. Under Who can open this page?, choose Public and click Next. The first time you publish, Convika shows Publish free, and under it Publish without the Convika bar, which opens an order for Pro monthly (1 day free with a card, then $12 a month). To publish on Free, click Publish free. The slides are live at an address like yourpage.convika.page. Paste the link into an email, a Slack message, or the meeting invite. Anyone opens it in a browser, with no account needed.
Presenting from the link
On October 13, 2026, we tested this process by uploading 4 decks. One used Tailwind and Google Fonts from their CDNs, included a Chart.js chart, and navigated with arrow keys and buttons. Two were built on reveal.js. The fourth was a Japanese deck that scales a 16:9 slide to the window. In the preview, every deck moved with arrow keys and clicks. The fonts and the chart loaded as expected. The 2 decks we published worked the same way on their live pages.
- Full screen. Open the link on the computer you present from. Use the deck's full-screen button or key if it has one, or switch to your browser's full-screen mode. In our test, the deck's own F key filled the screen.
- How many people opened it. Convika counts visits to the published deck. The dashboard shows where visitors came from, their devices, and their countries over the last 90 days on Free. It tracks how many people opened the page. It does not show who opened it. Find each number explained in How to see who visits your page.
- A change after you've sent the link. Type the change into Edit with AI on the page's dashboard screen. That uses 1 AI credit on the default model, and Free accounts start with 10. You can also connect Convika to Claude Code or another MCP client, then ask it to save the edited deck as a new version (deploying from Claude Code). Either way, the deck keeps its link, and the change goes live when you publish. Uploading the file again creates a separate page with a new address.
- Your own domain. Free accounts include 1 subdomain, such as
slides.yourbrand.com. You assign it from Manage domains on the page's dashboard screen. - Keep the deck out of search results, or put a password on it. When you publish, Public is free under Who can open this page?, and the deck may show up in search results and in Convika's gallery. Choose Private link (Pro or pass) and anyone with the link can still open the slides without a password or account, while Convika tells search engines to keep the page out of their results and leaves it out of the sitemap. If you only want your audience to open the deck even if the link is forwarded, pick Only people with the password in the publish dialog and order Pro monthly (1 day free with a card, then $12 a month), or the 1-year pass ($29, paid once, no renewal) from the link under the order's button, or, on Pro, set one under Page password in Page settings—visitors without the password see just the password screen, keeping what's on the page out of search results (see How to password protect an HTML page). Your dashboard's preview link works for 3 minutes, so it is for rehearsing on your own screen, not for sending; send a draft as a published link.
Ways to share an HTML slide deck, compared
We checked these options on October 13, 2026, against Anthropic's and Google's help pages.
| Way to share | Where it opens | Viewer needs an account | Your own domain | You can see if it was opened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Share link (Pro and above) | claude.ai | Yes, a Claude account | No | Not described in Anthropic's docs |
| Claude Code public link (Pro and above) | claude.ai | No, by Claude Code's docs; the sharing guide's only exception is a legacy artifact | No | Not described in Anthropic's docs |
| Gemini share link | gemini.google.com, not the Gemini app | Not described in Google's help | No | Not described in Google's help |
| Email or chat attachment | A file preview, or an app the recipient picks | No | Not applicable | No |
| Convika Free | Any browser | No | 1 subdomain, such as slides.yourbrand.com | Visits, referrers, devices, and countries for 90 days |
An attachment is the one way the slides may not move at all. On an iPhone, a sent .html file opens in a file preview. That preview ran no JavaScript in a test we ran on October 6, 2026, so the slide controls did nothing. Find the details in How to share an HTML file from Claude. For a teammate who uses Claude or Gemini, its own share link is enough. For a client, a room of people, or anyone on a phone, publish the deck and send that link.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share an HTML slide deck I made with Claude as a link?
You put the deck on a host that runs its scripts, such as Convika. First, get the deck as one HTML file. Ask Claude for the file with CSS and JavaScript inline, or have Claude Code save it to a folder. On Convika, select Upload an HTML file, drop the file in, and select Create my preview. Try the slides in the preview, then select Publish page, choose Public, select Next, and, the first time, select Publish free. You get an address anyone opens without a Claude account.
How do I share slides I made with Claude Code?
You ask Claude Code to save the deck as one HTML file in your folder, upload that file to Convika, and publish it. Claude Code's docs also describe publishing to claude.ai with a public link that requires no sign-in for Pro plans and above. Anthropic's sharing guide notes legacy artifacts as its only exception, so open that link in a private window before sending it. If you want your own domain and a count of who opened the slides, publish on Convika instead.
How do I share slides from Gemini Canvas?
Sharing a link that opens anywhere depends on what Canvas made. Canvas has a Share button, but that creates a g.co/gemini/share link that works only on gemini.google.com. If Canvas made your deck as code, click Code in the Canvas panel, copy the whole file, and paste it into Convika's Paste code tab. Try the preview and publish. If Canvas made slides instead, ask Gemini to rebuild them as one HTML file and follow the same steps, or choose Export to Slides to open them in Google Slides.
Can I turn an HTML presentation from Claude into PowerPoint?
You ask Claude to give you a PowerPoint file instead of converting the HTML file. Anthropic's file creation guide explains that Claude creates downloadable PowerPoint presentations (.pptx) when you ask for one, such as “Convert this document into a PowerPoint presentation.” A Claude Slides template deck also exports to PowerPoint and PDF. The HTML deck stays HTML, and Convika hosts it as a web page.
Do the slides work on a phone?
Yes, a published deck opens in the phone's browser with its scripts running. In our test on October 13, 2026, emulating an iPhone in WebKit, tapping the deck's buttons moved its slides. How the slides fit on a narrow screen and whether you can swipe between them depend on the deck's own code. Open the preview on your phone before you send the link to others.
Can I present the deck full screen?
Yes, you can present full screen using your deck's own controls or your browser. A deck's full-screen key or button works on a published Convika page, and the browser's full-screen mode works too. In our test on October 13, 2026, a deck whose F key switches to full screen filled the screen from its Convika link.
Can I see who opened my slides?
You can see how many people opened your slides on Convika, but not their specific identities. Anthropic's and Google's help pages describe no view counts for their share links. A published Convika deck counts visits and shows devices, countries, and where the visits came from. The Free plan keeps these numbers for 90 days.
What does it cost?
Convika has a Free plan that requires no card. The Free plan gives you 1 published page, 10,000 pageviews a month, and 1 custom domain. It shows a small Convika bar along the bottom of the screen. Pro costs $12 a month to remove the bar.
