How to share HTML slides from Claude or Gemini as a link anyone can open
Short answer
To share an HTML slide deck, get it out of Claude, Claude Code, or Gemini as one .html file, put it on a host that runs its scripts, and send the link. A Share link from Claude opens only for people signed in to Claude, and a Gemini share link opens only on gemini.google.com. On Convika, you upload the file in the dashboard, try the slides in a private preview, and publish: the deck opens at its own address in any browser, its arrow keys and buttons move the slides, and you see how many people opened it. The Free plan covers 10 pages, with no credit card.
Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 10,000 pageviews a month.
You asked Claude or Gemini for a presentation and got slides that run in a browser: one HTML file, the arrow keys move between slides, and there's a chart on slide 4. Now you need a link that a client, your team, or a meeting room can open on a laptop or a phone, without signing in to the AI tool. This guide covers what Claude's and Gemini's own sharing does, how to get the deck out as a file, and how to publish it as a link with Convika.
What Claude's and Gemini's share links do
- A Claude Share link opens only for people signed in to Claude. “Everyone needs a Claude account. People without one can't open a shared artifact, even with the link. The only exception is a legacy artifact published from a chat,” says Anthropic's sharing guide. Sharing with Anyone with the link is on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise, not Free. Artifacts made in a chat before September 16, 2026 can still be published on Free, Pro, and Max, and anyone with that link can open it without an account.
- Claude Code's public links are where Anthropic's pages disagree. Claude Code's docs say a page published from Claude Code can be shared with “no claude.ai sign-in required,” on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise, and on Team and Enterprise an Owner has to turn public sharing on first. The sharing guide gives legacy artifacts as its only exception. Before you send one, open it in a private browser window to check it loads without signing in.
- A Gemini share link opens only on gemini.google.com. In Canvas, Share & export and then Share gives a
g.co/gemini/sharelink. “Shared links only open in gemini.google.com,” says Google's Canvas help, and the Gemini mobile app can't open them. Anyone who opens the link can make a copy and keep editing it in their own Canvas.
| What a shared deck needs | Claude Share link | Gemini share link | The same deck on Convika |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it opens | claude.ai, for people signed in to Claude | gemini.google.com, not the Gemini app | Any browser, at the deck's own address |
| Your own domain | No, a claude.ai link | No, a g.co/gemini/share link | 1 subdomain on Free, such as slides.yourbrand.com |
| How many people opened it | Not described in Anthropic's docs | Not described in Google's help | Visits, referrers, devices, and countries for 90 days |
| Cost | Link sharing on Pro and above | Included in Gemini | Free, or Pro at $12 a month |
If they'll edit the deck, send a slides file instead. A deck made from Claude's Slides template exports to PowerPoint and PDF, or goes straight to Google Slides, according to Anthropic's artifact guide. In Gemini Canvas, Google's help says Export to Slides opens slides in Google Slides, and you can export them as a PDF too. The rest of this guide is for a deck that is an HTML file.
Get the deck as one HTML file
From a Claude chat
In the chat where you made the deck, ask: “Give me this deck as one HTML file, with the CSS and JavaScript inline. The arrow keys and the buttons on screen should move between slides.” Copy the code from the reply, or download the file if Claude attaches one. For a deck made in a chat before September 16, 2026, Anthropic's artifact guide says to “use the controls at the top of the artifact panel to view the code, copy the content, or download it.”
From Claude Code
Claude Code writes a page to a file before it publishes anything. Its docs say that unless you name a location, “Claude writes the page to an HTML or Markdown file in a temporary directory outside your project,” and writes elsewhere if you do. So name the folder: “Build the deck as one HTML file, slides.html, in this folder.” In Anthropic's post on HTML with Claude Code, Thariq Shihipar suggests putting work into “a long HTML document, an interactive explainer or even a slideshow/deck,” and adds: “As long as you upload the HTML file, you can share the link easily” (Claude blog, May 20, 2026). The /slides command is a different route: Claude Code's docs say it creates a Claude Slides artifact, which you edit and present on claude.ai.
From Gemini Canvas
When Canvas builds the deck as code, click Code at the top right of the Canvas panel and copy the whole file. If Canvas made a React app rather than plain HTML, first ask Gemini: “Convert this deck to a single HTML file with the CSS and JavaScript inline, no build step.” If Canvas made slides rather than code, ask Gemini to rebuild them: “Make these slides one HTML file, with the CSS and JavaScript inline, and arrow keys to move between slides.” Or, to edit them in Google Slides instead, use Export to Slides. You can paste the code straight into Convika in step 3.
Share your deck as a link in 5 steps
Get the deck as one HTML file
Use one of the ways above. Convika hosts 1 HTML file per page, so the deck's CSS and JavaScript go inside the file, and Google Fonts, Tailwind, and libraries such as Chart.js or reveal.js load from their CDNs. Images built into the file count toward the size limit, and an image that points to a file on your computer won't load online.
Create a free Convika account
Sign up at app.convika.com. The Free plan needs no credit card and covers 10 pages.
Upload the deck
In the dashboard, click Upload an HTML file. Drop the file on the Upload a file tab, or switch to Paste code and paste it. .html and .htm files up to 2 MB work. The page name comes from the deck's <title>. Click Create my preview. Uploading uses no AI credits.
Try the slides in the private preview
When you see “Your preview is ready,” click Open preview. The deck's scripts run in the preview as they will on the live page: press the arrow keys, click its buttons, and check that the fonts and charts look as they did in Claude or Gemini. The preview link is private and expires in 7 days, so nothing is public yet.
Publish and send the link
Click Publish, then Publish again in the dialog. The deck goes live at an address like yourpage.convika.com. Paste the link into an email, a Slack message, or the meeting invite, and anyone can open it in a browser without an account.
Present from the link
On October 13, 2026, we uploaded 4 decks this way: one with Tailwind and Google Fonts from their CDNs, a Chart.js chart, and arrow-key and button navigation; 2 built on reveal.js; and a Japanese deck that scales a 16:9 slide to the window. In the preview, every deck moved with the arrow keys and with clicks, and the fonts and the chart loaded. The 2 we published did the same on their live pages.
- Full screen. Open the link on the computer you present from, and use the deck's full-screen button or key, if it has one, or your browser's full-screen mode. In our test, the deck's own F key filled the screen.
- How many people opened it. Convika counts visits to the published deck and shows where they came from, their devices, and their countries for the last 90 days on Free. You see how many people opened it, not who they are. How to see who visits your page explains each number.
- A change after you've sent the link. Type the change into Improve with AI on the page's dashboard screen, which costs 1 AI credit on the default model; Free accounts start with 10. Or connect Convika to Claude Code or another MCP client and ask it to save the edited deck as a new version, as deploying from Claude Code shows. Either way the deck keeps its link, and the change goes live when you publish it. Uploading the file again creates a separate page with a new address.
- Your own domain. On Free you can connect 1 subdomain, such as
slides.yourbrand.com, from Manage domains on the page's dashboard screen. - Public or private. A published deck is a public web page: anyone with the link can open it, and search engines can index it like any other website. To limit it to your audience, add a password under Page password in its Site settings, on Pro at $12 a month or during the 14 free days of Pro that start with your first publish. Everyone else sees a password screen, as how to password protect an HTML page shows. For a draft, send the dashboard's preview link instead. Search engines are told not to index it, and it lasts 7 days.
Ways to share an HTML slide deck, compared
Checked on October 13, 2026, against Anthropic's and Google's help pages.
| Way to share | Where it opens | Viewer needs an account | Your own domain | You can see if it was opened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Share link (Pro and above) | claude.ai | Yes, a Claude account | No | Not described in Anthropic's docs |
| Claude Code public link (Pro and above) | claude.ai | No, by Claude Code's docs; the sharing guide's only exception is a legacy artifact | No | Not described in Anthropic's docs |
| Gemini share link | gemini.google.com, not the Gemini app | Not described in Google's help | No | Not described in Google's help |
| Email or chat attachment | A file preview, or an app the recipient picks | No | Not applicable | No |
| Convika Free | Any browser | No | 1 subdomain, such as slides.yourbrand.com | Visits, referrers, devices, and countries for 90 days |
An attachment is the one way where the slides may not move at all: on an iPhone, a sent .html file opens in a file preview, which ran no JavaScript in a test on October 6, 2026, so slide controls did nothing. How to share an HTML file from Claude has the details. For a teammate who uses Claude or Gemini, its own share link is enough. For a client, a room of people, or anyone on a phone, publish the deck and send that link.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share an HTML slide deck I made with Claude as a link?
Get the deck as one HTML file: ask Claude for it with the CSS and JavaScript inline, or have Claude Code save it to a folder. Then put it on a host that runs its scripts. On Convika, click Upload an HTML file in the dashboard, drop the file, click Create my preview, try the slides, and click Publish. The deck gets an address anyone can open without a Claude account.
How do I share slides I made with Claude Code?
Ask Claude Code to save the deck as one HTML file in your folder, then upload that file to Convika and publish it. Claude Code's docs also describe publishing a page to claude.ai with a public link that needs no sign-in, on Pro and above. Anthropic's sharing guide gives legacy artifacts as its only exception, so open that link in a private window before you send it. For your own domain and a count of how many people opened it, publish it on Convika.
How do I share slides from Gemini Canvas?
The Share button in Canvas gives a g.co/gemini/share link that opens only on gemini.google.com. For a link that opens anywhere, it depends on what Canvas made. If it made the deck as code, click Code in the Canvas panel, copy the whole file, paste it into Convika's Paste code tab, try the preview, and publish. If it made slides, ask Gemini to rebuild them as one HTML file and do the same, or use Export to Slides, which Google's help says opens slides in Google Slides.
Can I turn an HTML presentation from Claude into PowerPoint?
Ask Claude for a PowerPoint file instead. Anthropic's file creation guide says Claude creates PowerPoint presentations (.pptx) you can download, from a request such as “Convert this document into a PowerPoint presentation.” A deck made from Claude's Slides template exports to PowerPoint and PDF. The HTML deck itself stays HTML, and Convika hosts it as a web page.
Do the slides work on a phone?
Yes. The published deck opens in the phone's browser with its scripts running. In our October 13, 2026 test, which emulated an iPhone in WebKit, the engine Safari uses, tapping a deck's buttons moved its slides. How a deck fits a narrow screen, and whether a swipe changes slides, depends on the deck's own code, so open the preview on your phone before you send the link.
Can I present the deck full screen?
Yes. A deck's own full-screen key or button works on a published Convika page, and so does your browser's full-screen mode. In our October 13, 2026 test, a deck whose F key switches to full screen filled the screen from its Convika link.
Can I see who opened my slides?
Anthropic's and Google's help pages describe no view counts for their share links. A published Convika deck counts visits and shows where they came from, their devices, and their countries for 90 days on Free. You see how many people opened it, not who they were.
What does it cost?
Convika's Free plan needs no card: 10 pages, 10,000 pageviews a month, and 1 custom domain. On Free, a small “Powered by Convika” bar runs along the bottom of the screen, and Pro removes it. Publish your first page and Pro is free for 14 days, no card needed. After that, Pro costs $12 a month, or you go back to Free.
