Netlify Drop alternatives in 2026: 7 hosts compared on forms, stats, and domains

Short answer

Netlify Drop still turns a dragged HTML file into a link in seconds, and its Free plan stores unlimited form entries. The catches: the link has a temporary password until you sign in and claim it, new teams' projects stay private until you make them public, and every project pauses when the 300 monthly credits run out. Cloudflare Drop gives a public link with no account, deleted after 60 minutes unless you claim it. If the page needs a form and 90 days of visitor stats with no credit budget to watch, Convika's Free plan covers 10 pages and 50 form entries a month, with a small badge.

Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 50 form entries a month.

Netlify Drop has turned a dragged folder into a website since 2018, and it still takes “a folder, zip file, or single HTML file” with no account. What happens after the drop has changed. Since a 2024 fraud wave, an anonymous drop stays behind a temporary password until you claim it. Accounts created since September 4, 2025 are on credit-based plans, where Free runs on 300 credits a month. And teams created on or after July 28, 2026 start new projects private. Form submissions, on the other hand, became free in April 2026.

A landing page has to do more than load. It needs an address you can share, a form that keeps what visitors send, and a way to see where they came from. This page compares Netlify Drop with 6 alternatives on those jobs, plus what takes the page offline. Details come from each vendor's own pricing pages and docs, checked on October 5, 2026. Free plans change often, so confirm before you launch.

How Netlify Drop works now

  • The link has a password until you claim it. Netlify's Drop quickstart says that if you drop without signing in, “your project URL is protected with a temporary password until you claim it.” According to Netlify's history of Drop, the claim window was cut to 1 hour in January 2022, the password came after a 2024 fraud wave, and unclaimed sites are suspended, then deleted a week later.
  • New teams start projects private. Teams created on or after July 28, 2026 get “Private for new projects” by default (project visibility docs). On Free and Personal, only the team owner can see a private project, and anyone else gets a Netlify page saying they don't have access. Select Make public before you share the link.
  • The Free plan is a credit budget. Accounts created since September 4, 2025 are on credit-based plans, and Free gets 300 credits a month. A production deploy costs 15 and bandwidth costs 20 per GB, so 20 deploys use the whole month. When the balance hits zero, “all of your web projects (sites/apps) are paused” (Netlify's credit docs), visitors see a “Site not available” page, and paused projects take no form submissions until the next month or until you upgrade.
  • Forms became free. Netlify's April 14, 2026 pricing update made form submissions free on credit-based plans; before that, each one cost a credit.
  • A drop is now a full project. Netlify's summer 2026 update lets you redeploy a drop, connect a custom domain, and drop a project that needs a build step.

Each option in a paragraph

Netlify Drop

Netlify is the strongest free option here for a page with a form, as long as you stay within the credits. Select Enable form detection under Forms, add data-netlify="true" to your <form>, then drop the folder again, because detection starts with the next deploy. Entries appear in the project's Forms tab, download as a CSV, and can go to you by email, Slack, or webhook. Custom domains with SSL are included. Web Analytics shows pageviews, unique visitors, top pages, and top sources without a script, but Netlify's pricing page lists 1 day of retention on Free and 7 days on Personal, which costs $9 a month for 1,000 credits.

Better than the others at: unlimited free form entries, and sites with many files or a build step.

Vercel Drop

Vercel launched Drop on June 12, 2026. You drag in a single HTML file, a folder, or a .zip, pick a team and project name, and it goes straight to production, so you need a Vercel account first. The free Hobby plan includes 100 GB of data transfer, 1,000,000 CDN requests, and 50,000 Web Analytics events a month, keeps 1 month of analytics data, and allows 50 domains per project. Vercel's fair use guidelines restrict Hobby to “non-commercial personal use only” and count “advertising the sale of a product or service” as commercial. The Hobby plan lists no form feature, so a form needs a service such as Formspree or a function you write. A page for something you sell needs Vercel Pro at $20 a month.

Better than the others at: pages that grow into a Next.js or other framework project.

Cloudflare Drop and Pages

Cloudflare has 2 ways to drag files in. Cloudflare Drop takes a folder or .zip with no account and gives you a live workers.dev URL; claim it within 60 minutes, or Cloudflare deletes it. Pages direct upload, in the Cloudflare dashboard, takes “a zip file or single folder of assets,” up to 1,000 files of 25 MiB each. Both take a folder or a zip, so put your HTML file in a folder as index.html first. Either way, requests to static files are free and unlimited. Cloudflare Web Analytics is free and shows referrers, countries, and devices; on Pages, turn it on in the project's Metrics tab. A Pages project takes up to 100 custom domains, and a custom domain on Workers needs the domain's DNS on Cloudflare. For a form, the Static Forms plugin hands each submission to code you write, such as a function that saves it to KV. Cloudflare's Pages docs now say “Start new projects with Workers.”

Better than the others at: traffic, with no cap on static requests, and a public link with no account for the first hour.

GitHub Pages

GitHub Pages publishes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files “straight from a repository,” free, with a custom domain, including a bare yourbrand.com. On GitHub Free the repository must be public, so anyone can read your HTML. Sites can be up to 1 GB, with a soft limit of 100 GB of bandwidth a month. GitHub's usage limits say Pages is not for running “your online business, e-commerce site, or any other website that is primarily directed at either facilitating commercial transactions or providing commercial software as a service (SaaS).” It's a static host, so a form needs an outside service, and the Pages docs describe no visitor stats.

Better than the others at: version history through Git, and free hosting on a bare domain for open projects.

Tiiny Host

Tiiny Host takes an HTML file, a zip, or a PDF and gives it a tiiny.site link. Signing up for its free plan “takes an email address and nothing else.” The free plan allows 1 active project, a 3 MB upload, and 5,000 visits and 5 GB of bandwidth a month, with a Tiiny Host banner. Its FAQ says free links stay online “as long as you log into your account once every 3 months.” Built-in analytics and banner removal start on Tiny at $9 a month, custom domains on Solo at $18, and email capture on Pro at $38.

Better than the others at: PDFs, zips, and large uploads on paid plans.

Static.app

Static.app has no free plan, only a 7-day trial with no card: 1 site and 50 MB on a free subdomain. Starter costs $6 a month, or $5 a month billed yearly, for 2 sites, 500 MB, custom domains, forms, website analytics, and unlimited traffic.

Better than the others at: low-cost paid hosting with forms and analytics from the first tier.

Convika

Convika hosts landing pages and keeps what happens on them. In the dashboard, upload an HTML file of up to 2 MB or paste its code, check the private preview, and publish; Claude, Claude Code, or Codex can also save the page through Convika's MCP server. Add a form to my page puts in a form that stores entries, emails you each one, and exports them as a CSV. The dashboard shows visits, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, and button clicks for the last 90 days. The Free plan covers 10 pages, 10,000 pageviews a month, 50 form entries a month, and 1 custom subdomain such as www.yourbrand.com, with a small “Powered by Convika” badge. Limits don't take the page offline: past 10,000 pageviews, stats stop until next month and a banner at the bottom of the page says “This site has reached its monthly traffic limit”; past 50 entries, the form refuses new ones until next month. Pro costs $12 a month after a 14-day free trial.

Weaker than the others at: anything beyond one HTML page. Images, PDFs, and extra pages have to live somewhere else, and a bare yourbrand.com isn't set up for you. Analytics tools such as Google Analytics send data only on Pro and above. Publishing needs a free account.

To see your page on Convika before you sign up, drop the .html file or paste its code below. You get a preview link that works for 7 days. Search engines are told not to index it, and the page's scripts and forms stay off. It isn't published yet: sign up free and keep the page, and it moves into your account with its scripts and forms working. The same box is on the free HTML publishing tool.

Adding a form to a host without one

Cloudflare, GitHub Pages, and Vercel serve your HTML but don't store form entries for you. There are 3 ways to fix that:

  • A form service. Formspree's free plan takes 50 submissions a month across unlimited forms, keeps them for 30 days, and emails you each one. Paste its endpoint into your form's action.
  • Code on Cloudflare. The Static Forms plugin passes each submission to a Pages Function you write, which can save it to KV or send it on.
  • A host with a form. Netlify stores unlimited entries while your credits last. Convika stores 50 a month on Free and shows which sites and campaigns sent them.

How to make the signup form on your AI-made page work walks through each option step by step.

Which one to pick

  • You need a public link right now, with no account: Cloudflare Drop. Claim it within 60 minutes to keep it.
  • The page needs a form, you redeploy a few times a month, and you don't want a badge: Netlify Drop. Count your deploys against the 300 monthly credits.
  • You expect a lot of traffic and will add your own form service: Cloudflare.
  • It's a personal, non-commercial page: GitHub Pages or Vercel Hobby.
  • You're sharing a PDF, a zip, or a portfolio rather than a landing page: Tiiny Host.
  • The page collects signups, and you want to see which sites and campaigns sent them without a credit budget that can pause it: Convika Free, then Pro at $12 a month past 50 entries a month.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free alternative to Netlify Drop?

Cloudflare Drop, for a public link with no account: it serves the page for 60 minutes and keeps it if you claim it in that time. Cloudflare Pages, for heavy traffic, with no limit on requests to static files. Convika, for a page that collects entries and shows where visitors came from: its Free plan includes both, with a badge and 50 form entries a month. For unlimited free form entries, Netlify itself is still the only option here.

Is there a Netlify Drop alternative with forms?

Of these 7, 2 store form entries on the free plan without another service: Netlify (unlimited, on its credit-based plans) and Convika (50 entries a month, with an email for each). Static.app includes forms from Starter at $6 a month, and Tiiny Host has email capture from Pro at $38 a month. On Cloudflare, GitHub Pages, and Vercel, use a form service such as Formspree, or write the code yourself.

Can I use Netlify Drop without an account?

You can drop files without one, but the URL is protected with a temporary password until you log in or sign up and claim it. Netlify's history of Drop says the claim window was cut to 1 hour in January 2022. Teams created on or after July 28, 2026 start new projects private, so after claiming, select Make public before you share the link. Cloudflare Drop gives a public workers.dev link with no account, deleted after 60 minutes unless you claim it.

Why does my Netlify Drop site ask for a password or say I don't have access?

A password means the drop isn't claimed yet; log in or sign up to claim it. A Netlify page saying you don't have access means the project is private. On Free and Personal, only the team owner can see a private project. Open the project and select Make public.

Is Netlify Drop still free?

Yes, within a budget. The Free plan is $0 with 300 credits a month: 15 per production deploy, 20 per GB of bandwidth, and 2 per 10,000 web requests. Form submissions cost nothing. When the credits run out, every project on the account shows “Site not available” and takes no form submissions until the next month, or until you upgrade to Personal at $9 a month for 1,000 credits.

Does Cloudflare Pages have forms?

Not as a place that stores entries. The Static Forms plugin passes each submission to a Pages Function you write, which can save it to KV or forward it. Without code, point the form at a service such as Formspree, whose free plan takes 50 submissions a month, or host the page somewhere with a built-in form.

Which free host shows where visitors came from?

Netlify's Web Analytics lists top sources, but the Free plan keeps 1 day of data. Cloudflare Web Analytics is free and shows referrers, countries, and devices. Vercel Hobby counts 50,000 Web Analytics events a month and keeps 1 month of data. Convika shows referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, and button clicks, with form entries per campaign, for 90 days on Free. The GitHub Pages docs describe no visitor stats, and Tiiny Host's analytics start at $9 a month.

Can I try Convika without an account?

Yes, as a preview. Drop an HTML file or paste the code into the box on this page or on the free HTML publishing tool. You get a link that works for 7 days, with the page's scripts and forms off. Publishing it on a Convika address or your own subdomain needs a free account; sign up from the preview, and the page moves into your account.

Host the page with its form and stats included

Upload your HTML file. Convika puts it on your subdomain, keeps the form entries, and shows where visitors came from.

Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 50 form entries a month.
