HTML viewer: open an .html file in your browser

Choose an .html file or paste its code, and the page renders here with its CSS and JavaScript, on a phone or a computer. The file stays in your browser. When you want a link someone else can open, one tap puts it in Convika's upload box for a private 7-day link.

.html or .htm, up to 2 MB. It opens on this page and isn't uploaded.

Open an HTML file on any device

On an iPhone or iPad

Save the file to the Files app first: in Mail, touch and hold the attachment and choose Save to Files. Then open this page in Safari, tap Choose an .html file, and pick the file. Tapping the file in Files opens a preview instead, and in a test on iOS 26.3 that preview ran no JavaScript and loaded no images, fonts, or Tailwind from the web.

On Android

Open this page in Chrome, tap Choose an .html file, and pick the file from Downloads or the folder you saved it to. A file manager hands an .html file to whichever app the phone picks, so the page can look different there.

On a computer

Drag the file onto the box above, or paste the code a chat gave you. Switch to Phone to see how the page fits a phone screen. Double-clicking the file opens it in your browser too, but only on that computer.

Why an HTML file doesn't open properly on a phone

On an iPhone, the Files app hands an .html file to a preview, not to Safari. The preview shows the text and the CSS written inside the file, but skips the page's JavaScript and everything it loads from the web. On Android, it depends on the app that opens the file. This viewer runs in the phone's browser, so the page gets both.

Sending the file to someone? How to share an HTML file as a link

Why images or other pages don't show

The viewer reads one file. A path like hero.png points to a file in the same folder on your device, so that image shows as broken, and the viewer lists those files under the page. Give each image a full https:// link. A link to another page of the site, such as about.html, goes nowhere for the same reason, and links that open a new tab are off here.

Share the page as a link

The viewer shows the page on your screen only. To send it to someone, press Get a link to share it under the page. It goes into Convika's free upload tool, which gives you a private link that works for 7 days, with no signup. The page's scripts and forms are off in that link. Keep the page on the Free plan, with no card, to publish it with its scripts running.

Questions

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the file and shows it on this page, and Convika's servers never receive it. It's sent only if you press Get a link to share it, then Get my preview link in the upload tool. The page still loads what it links to, such as images, fonts, and scripts from other sites, as it would anywhere.

Does JavaScript run?

Yes, unless you turn off Run scripts. The page runs in a sandboxed frame, walled off from convika.com, so its scripts can't read convika.com's cookies or storage, change this page, or send this tab to another site. Pop-up windows and alert boxes are off. To look at a file without running its code, such as one a stranger sent you, turn off Run scripts before you open it.

Why don't my images show?

A path like hero.png or images/logo.svg points to a file on your device, and the viewer reads only the .html file. Give each image a full https:// link, or build it into the code, which counts toward the 2 MB limit. The viewer lists the files it can't find under the page.

How do I open an HTML file on an iPhone?

Save the file to the Files app, then open this page in Safari, tap Choose an .html file, and pick it. The page shows with its JavaScript, web fonts, and images from the web. Tapping the file in Files opens a preview that, in a test on iOS 26.3, ran no JavaScript and loaded nothing from the web.

How do I open an HTML file on Android?

Open this page in Chrome, tap Choose an .html file, and pick the file from Downloads or the folder you saved it to. The page shows here with its CSS and JavaScript.

How do I share the page as a link?

Press Get a link to share it under the page. Convika's free upload tool opens with the page in the box; press Get my preview link there. You get a private link that works for 7 days, with no signup, and each network can make 10 a day. Scripts and forms are off in that link until you keep the page on the Free plan.

Can I edit the code?

Yes. Press Edit the code under the page, change the code in the box, and press Show the page. Your file stays as it was, so copy the code back into it to keep the changes, or get a link to the edited page.
