Yes. Base44's pricing page, read on November 3, 2026, lists the Free plan at $0 with “25 message credits” for building and “100 integration credits” for your app's emails and AI calls a month, and Base44's billing and plans docs add “Up to 5 message credits a day, within your monthly total” and “Up to 5 apps.” Every app goes live at a free base44.app address with an Edit with Base44 badge. A custom domain and hiding the badge start on Base44 Starter, $20 a month, or $16 a month billed yearly.
Base44's pricing page, docs, and Terms of Service were read on November 3, 2026. The terms are dated June 22, 2026; the pricing page and docs carry no date. The terms are an agreement with “Wix.com Ltd., which operates the Base44-branded services.” Prices are in US dollars. Plans change, so check Base44's pages before you pay.

Pro costs $100 a month, or $80 billed yearly, with 500 message credits, and Elite starts at $200 a month, or $160 billed yearly, with 1,200. Yearly billing “saves 20% on every paid plan,” per the pricing FAQ, and every yearly plan from Starter up “includes a free domain for 1 year.” Base44 gives 50% off Starter or Builder to students, teachers, and staff of academic institutions who verify a school email. Base44 plans are “non-refundable under the Base44 Terms of Use.”
What a Base44 credit is
Base44's credits docs call credits “the units Base44 uses when you interact with Base44's AI or connect your app to external tools.” There are 2 kinds.
- Message credits pay for building. They're used “for prompts that plan, update, or fix parts of your app.”
- Integration credits pay for running the app. They're used “whenever your app uses Base44's built-in services, such as sending an email, generating an image, running an LLM call.”
“There is no set credit amount used per message.” Base44 gives rough ranges and says the exact number is worked out after each message runs:
| What you ask Base44 to change | Typical message credits |
|---|---|
| A simple visual or text change | About 0.5 |
| Improving a small feature | About 1 |
| Adding a complex module across several files | About 2 |
| A large or app-wide change | About 3 to 4 |
At those rates, Free's 5 credits a day cover about 10 small text or style changes, or 1 or 2 app-wide changes. Manual edits in the visual editor use no credits, and each message in Discuss mode uses about 0.3. On Free, automatic error fixes use message credits; on paid plans “automatic AI fixes are free.”
Integration credits have their own prices: about 1 credit per email your app sends, 1 per AI image, and 1 per LLM call on the automatic model. “Reading and writing data to your app's database does not use integration credits.”
When your Base44 credits run out
Base44's credits docs say “When you reach your credit limit, actions that use credits pause until your next reset.” What pauses depends on the kind of credit.
- Message credits. “You cannot send new messages in the AI chat until you have message credits again.” On Free, the daily 5 reset at midnight in the workspace owner's time zone, and the monthly 25 reset each month. Only your personal workspace, the one made when you sign up, gets free message credits.
- Integration credits. Base44 emails you, and any action that needs them “fails and shows an error.” A visitor whose action needs them, such as signing up and triggering an email, gets “a generic error message without any reference to integration credits.”
Unused credits “expire when they reset.” The credits docs don't say a published app goes offline when credits run out. To build before the reset, Base44's docs say to “upgrade or adjust your plan,” and they name no way to buy extra credits on Free. Base44 gives free credits 2 other ways:
- Sharing a project. “Share your Base44 project on LinkedIn or X and claim 20 message credits for your personal workspace. You can do this once per Base44 account.” Claiming them from the Earn credits panel “is rolling out gradually.”
- Inviting friends. Under Base44's referral program, a friend who signs up through your link gets bonus credits, and you earn credits when they publish their first app and again when they upgrade. Base44's docs don't give the amounts, and referral credits “expire 40 days after you earn them.”
Publishing, your domain, and the badge on Base44
Base44 publishes every app at no cost. Its domain docs say “Every Base44 app is live on a free built-in URL (myapp.base44.app) from the moment you create it.” You can change that address at any time, and the old link “immediately stops working.”
- Your own domain takes Starter. “Custom domains are available on the Starter plan and higher.” Base44 issues the SSL certificate, and you can buy a domain inside Base44, through Wix since September 9, 2026, or connect one you own.
- The badge goes on Starter. Base44's access docs describe it as “a small "Edit with Base44" label at the bottom right of your live app,” and anyone who clicks it “can copy your app into their own account and edit their own version.” “You need the Starter plan or above to hide the badge,” with the Platform Badge toggle.
- Free apps are public. “From February 6, 2026, private apps are a paid feature.”
- No visitor cap. Base44's performance docs say “There's no limit on how many people can sign up, visit, or use your app at the same time.” The limits an app can reach “are on its data, requests, files, and credits.”
- Analytics on Free shows 7 days. “Analytics keeps 60 days of history on every plan. On the Free plan, you can view the last 7 days.” It doesn't break visits down by UTM tags, per the analytics docs.
If a paid workspace goes back to Free, the badge returns, and with more than 5 apps “you choose which 5 stay published, and the others are unpublished.”
What you can do on Base44 Free
The table applies Base44's docs and terms to common cases. A row reads Yes where Base44 allows it on Free and No where it names a paid plan.
| What you want to do | What Base44's docs and terms say | On Base44 Free? |
|---|---|---|
| Publish an app anyone can open | “Every Base44 app is live on a free built-in URL” (domains) | Yes |
| Collect sign-ups in the app's database | Free includes “database functionality,” and database reads and writes use no integration credits (pricing, credits) | Yes |
| Get an email for each sign-up | About 1 integration credit per email, from 100 a month (credits) | Yes, while integration credits last |
| Use the app for a business | “If you have a free account, you may use the Platform and Website for business or personal purposes” (terms) | Yes |
| Connect your own domain | “Custom domains are available on the Starter plan and higher” (domains) | No |
| Hide the Edit with Base44 badge | “You need the Starter plan or above to hide the badge” (access) | No |
| Make the app private | “private apps are a paid feature” (billing and plans) | No |
| Edit the code yourself | “On the Free plan, you can view your app's code but not change it” (developer tools) | No |
| Download the code as a ZIP | “ZIP export is available on the Builder plan and higher” (developer tools) | No |
| Sync the code with GitHub | “GitHub 2 way sync requires the Builder plan or higher” (GitHub) | No |
| Take payments in your app | “you can sell on the Builder plan or higher” (building a website) | No |
| Run the app on your own servers | “Base44 doesn't support self-hosting” (developer tools) | No, on any plan |
Exporting a Base44 app's code
Base44's pricing FAQ answers “Do I own my app, and can I export the code?” with “Yes. You own everything you build on Base44: your code, your data, your users. Two-way GitHub sync exports the full source code to your own repo at any time. Nothing is locked to the platform.” Its developer docs add the limits.
- Plan. ZIP export and GitHub sync start on Builder, $50 a month, or $40 billed yearly. On Free you can read the code but not change it.
- What runs it. “The exported code still relies on Base44 to run, so a ZIP is a copy of your code, not a way to move your app off Base44.” The code “uses the Base44 SDK to connect to your app's backend on Base44 for data, logins, backend functions, and integrations.”
- Self-hosting. “Base44 doesn't support self-hosting.” To run an app fully elsewhere, “you'd need to replace those parts with your own backend and change the code that uses them.”
- Data. The ZIP holds the current code, not your app's data or version history; you export each data table as a CSV file.
A Base44 app's front end is React with Vite and Tailwind CSS, and its back end is Base44's managed database, sign-in, and serverless functions, per the app code docs.
Can you use Base44 for commercial use?
Yes. Base44's Terms of Service, last updated June 22, 2026, say “If you have a free account, you may use the Platform and Website for business or personal purposes.” A paid account is for business only: “solely for the purposes of your trade, business, craft, or profession, and not for personal, family-related, or household-related purposes.” Section 5.3 says “the Customer owns all rights, title and interest in the code and applications generated by the Platform,” to the extent such rights exist under law.
Base44 trains on your data on most plans. Its privacy and security docs say that on “All other plans, including Business: your data can be used to train AI models,” and only Enterprise is excluded. The terms also bar using Base44 or its output “to build, train or improve a competing product or service.”
Base44 and 5 other builders' free plans
Each row is from the builder's own pricing page or docs, read on November 3, 2026. The linked pages cover each one in detail.
| Builder and free plan | AI allowance on the free plan | Where the free plan publishes | Host's badge on the free plan | Cheapest plan for your own domain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Base44 Free | 25 message credits a month, up to 5 a day, plus 100 integration credits (plans) | A base44.app address, public only | “Edit with Base44” | Base44 Starter, $20 a month, or $16 billed yearly |
| Bolt Free | 1M tokens a month, up to 300K a day (pricing) | A bolt.host address, public only | “Made in Bolt” | Bolt Pro, $25 a month, or $18 billed yearly |
| Lovable Free | 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month (plans) | A lovable.app address | “Edit with Lovable” | Lovable Pro, $25 a month, or $250 a year |
| v0 Free | $5 in credits once for new users, and 7 messages a day (pricing docs) | Vercel, under the Vercel plan of your team; Hobby is non-commercial only | v0's docs don't say | Free, through the Vercel project (custom domains) |
| Replit Starter | Daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap; Replit doesn't state the amount (Starter plan) | 1 published app, whose link “will automatically go down after 30 days” | “Made with Replit” | Replit's Starter docs don't say; removing the badge takes Core, $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly (pricing) |
| Convika Free | 10 AI credits to start; uploads and the rebuild tool use none | yourpage.convika.page | A small Convika bar at the bottom | Free: 1 subdomain, such as www |
Every builder here except Convika caps its free AI use by the day. Base44, Lovable, and Replit also give the free plan a separate monthly allowance for running the app: Base44's is 100 integration credits, Lovable's is a 20-credit Cloud grant and a 4-credit AI grant, and Replit's Starter docs give no amount. Of these, only v0's and Convika's pages say a free plan connects your own domain; Replit's docs don't say. v0's Vercel Hobby hosting is for “non-commercial personal use only.”
Convika for a landing page you made in Base44
Convika hosts landing pages, one HTML page each, with a form that keeps entries and stats on who visited. A Base44 app doesn't move to Convika as it is: it runs on Base44's database, sign-in, and functions, and Base44 says its exported code “still relies on Base44 to run.” Convika takes one .html or .htm file, up to 2 MB, or pasted code, with no server code.
A static page, such as a landing or waitlist page with no sign-in, can be rebuilt as one HTML page:
- Rebuild it from the base44.app link. The app must be public. Paste the link into the free rebuild tool and click Rebuild my page. No signup, email, or card is needed. You get a private preview in your page's colors and fonts, with a list of what changed and why. Click Keep this page to move it into a Free account, then Add a form to my page, then Publish page. Choose Public, click Next, and, the first time, click Publish free. In a test on November 3, 2026, on a public base44.app coming-soon page, the preview kept the page's font, its orange and pink, and its email sign-up, and laid the page out anew around a rewritten headline. That page showed no Edit with Base44 badge, so the test didn't cover one.
- Describe it to Convika's AI. Sign up free, click Create with AI, and describe the page, or paste a link to a page it should start from. Free accounts start with 10 AI credits.
- Upload one HTML file. If ChatGPT or Claude wrote the page as a single HTML file, click Upload an HTML file and add it, or paste its code. Uploading uses no AI credits.
Convika's form keeps each sign-up without credits: it stores the entry, emails it to you, and exports to CSV. Section 7 of Convika's terms allows commercial use on every plan, Free included. Free includes 1 published page, 1 custom subdomain such as www.yourbrand.com, 50 form entries shown a month, 10,000 page views a month, and 90 days of visitor stats, with referrers and UTM campaigns, and a small Convika bar at the bottom. Pro removes the bar and shows every form entry. Pro costs $12 a month.
Where Base44 fits better: an app with sign-ins, a database, workflows, or payments. Convika hosts each page as one HTML file at its own path, the rebuild writes a new page from your page's text, colors, and fonts rather than copying it, and custom domains are subdomains such as www.
Which one to pick
- An app with sign-ins, a database, or workflows: Build it on Base44. Free gives you 25 message credits a month to try it; your own domain starts on Base44 Starter, and exporting the code on Builder.
- An app whose code you want in GitHub from day one: Base44 Builder, $50 a month, or Lovable, whose Git sync is on every plan. Bolt's GitHub help names no plan.
- A landing or waitlist page on your own domain with no monthly fee: Convika Free, with the form and visitor stats built in. Rebuild the page from its base44.app link.
Frequently asked questions
Is Base44 free?
Yes. Base44's Free plan costs $0 and includes 25 message credits a month, up to 5 a day, 100 integration credits a month, and up to 5 apps. Each app is live at a base44.app address with an Edit with Base44 badge. Your own domain, hiding the badge, private apps, and code edits start on Base44 Starter, $20 a month.
How many credits does Base44's free plan give?
Base44 Free gives 25 message credits a month, with up to 5 usable a day, and 100 integration credits a month. Message credits pay for building with the AI; integration credits pay for your app's emails, AI calls, and other built-in services. Only your personal workspace gets the free message credits, and unused credits expire at each reset. You can also claim 20 message credits once by sharing a project on LinkedIn or X, where Base44 has rolled out that option, and earn referral credits by inviting friends.
What happens when Base44 credits run out?
Building with the AI stops until the reset, unless you upgrade or earn credits by sharing a project or inviting friends. With no message credits, “You cannot send new messages in the AI chat.” With no integration credits, actions that need them fail, and your app's visitors see a generic error. Base44's credits docs don't say the app goes offline, and database reads and writes use no credits.
Can I use a custom domain on Base44's free plan?
No. Base44's docs say “Custom domains are available on the Starter plan and higher.” Starter costs $20 a month, or $16 a month billed yearly. A yearly plan includes a free domain for 1 year, claimed within 60 days; monthly plans don't.
How do I remove the "Edit with Base44" badge?
Upgrade to Base44 Starter or higher, then turn off the Platform Badge toggle. Base44's docs say “You need the Starter plan or above to hide the badge,” and the badge turns back on if your workspace returns to Free. Hiding it also stops visitors copying your app.
How much does Base44 cost, and is there a free trial?
Base44 Free is $0, and Base44's pricing page and docs name no free trial of a paid plan. Billed monthly, Starter is $20, Builder $50, Pro $100, and Elite from $200 a month. Billed yearly, they are $16, $40, $80, and $160 a month. Students and teachers who verify a school email get 50% off Starter or Builder, and “Founders can also apply to Base44 for Startups for a free annual license and credits.”
Can I export my Base44 code and host it elsewhere?
No, not fully. ZIP export and GitHub sync start on Base44 Builder, $50 a month. Base44 says the exported code “still relies on Base44 to run,” and “Base44 doesn't support self-hosting.” To run the app without Base44, you replace its database, sign-in, and functions with your own backend.
Can I use Base44 for commercial use?
Yes. Base44's terms say a free account may be used “for business or personal purposes,” and that you own “the code and applications generated by the Platform.” Taking payments inside your app starts on Base44 Builder. Your data can be used to train AI models on every plan below Enterprise.
Is Base44 owned by Wix?
Yes. Base44's Terms of Service, last updated June 22, 2026, are an agreement with “Wix.com Ltd., which operates the Base44-branded services.” Domains bought inside Base44 since September 9, 2026 are registered through Wix, and the pricing page's footer reads “© 2026 Wix.com Ltd.”
Is there a free way to put a Base44 landing page on my own domain?
Yes, with Convika's Free plan, for a page that needs no sign-in. Paste your public base44.app link into Convika's free rebuild tool, with no signup, and get a private preview in your page's colors and fonts. Keep it, add a form, and connect 1 custom subdomain, such as www.yourbrand.com. The rebuild is a new page, not your Base44 app.
