Is Carrd free? Free sites, Pro plans, custom domains, and forms

Short answer

Yes. Carrd's Free plan publishes up to 3 sites on .carrd.co addresses with “Made with Carrd” in the footer, and your own domain, forms, and analytics start with Pro Standard at $19 a year. For a landing or waitlist page, Convika's Free plan connects a subdomain of your own domain, such as www, with a form that keeps signups and 90 days of visitor stats, and it takes the HTML file your AI wrote as it is.

Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 50 form entries a month.

Carrd's home page puts the answer in one sentence: “Build up to three sites per account and use all of Carrd's core features – for free!” The Free plan publishes real sites at no cost. What it holds back is the set of things a page needs once it starts collecting signups: your own domain, a form, and visitor stats. Each of those starts with a paid plan, and Carrd's paid plans are billed by the year.

Can you use a custom domain on Carrd's free plan?

No. Carrd's custom domain docs carry one line about plans: “Requires Pro Standard or higher”. A free site stays on a .carrd.co address.

The first paid tier doesn't add a domain either. Pro Lite, at $9 a year, removes the branding and lets you “Publish sites to unbranded URLs (like .crd.co) and punycode URLs.” Pro Standard, at $19 a year, is the tier that adds it. Carrd's plan docs describe it this way: “In addition to premium URLs, publish sites to any custom domains you own (with full SSL support via Let's Encrypt).”

Carrd forms: which plan, and where entries go

Forms aren't on the Free plan. Carrd's form docs say “Requires Pro Standard or higher”, and its plan docs list forms under Pro Standard: “Add fully functional contact forms and signup forms”.

Each form type sends its entries somewhere outside Carrd:

  • Contact forms email you: “Contact forms allow site visitors to send feedback directly to your Carrd account email or (optionally) other recipients.”
  • Signup forms pass names and emails to an email tool. Carrd's list of them includes “Kit forms, Klaviyo lists, Loops contacts and lists, Mailchimp audiences”.
  • Advanced Forms, on Pro Plus at $49 a year, are custom forms. Carrd's plan docs describe them as “In addition to contact and signup forms, build entirely custom forms that integrate with Zapier, Make, n8n and Airtable, send data to URLs”, and its form docs mark them “Requires Pro Plus or higher”.

Carrd's form docs describe no list inside Carrd where past entries stay for you to view or export.

The Free plan's other limits

  • Sites: 3 sites per account. Pro Standard raises it to 10 sites.
  • Elements: Carrd's troubleshooting docs say “If you're on the free "Basic" plan, you're currently limited to 50 elements per site”.
  • Your own code: the Embed element takes custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from Pro Standard up. There's no way to upload or import an HTML file; Carrd's docs add that “The downloaded version of a site cannot be uploaded back to the Carrd platform.”
  • Visitor stats: Carrd Analytics launched on October 2, 2026. It starts at Pro Standard, and Carrd's docs say “Carrd Analytics is currently in beta” and “Carrd Analytics only tracks Views”.
  • Commercial use: no restriction appears in Carrd's terms; they describe the Basic plan this way: “The Website is currently free to use under a Basic plan.”
  • Trying Pro: Carrd lets you “test drive a subset of its features free for a full 7 days”.

What “Made with Carrd” looks like on a free site

In a check on October 12, 2026, of 2 free .carrd.co sites, loaded without an account, each page ends with a footer block, <div id="credits">, holding one link that reads “Made with Carrd” and points to carrd.co/build. Neither page has a <form>.

A third .carrd.co page, a “Coming Soon” page, had a signup form and no “Made with Carrd” credit. That combination only exists on Pro: the form needs Pro Standard, and every Pro tier removes the credit.

A year on your own domain: Carrd or Convika

For a waitlist page at www.yourbrand.com with a signup form, for 12 months:

  • Carrd Pro Standard: $19 for the year, plus the domain. Signups go to your email or your email tool.
  • Convika Free: $0, plus the domain. Signups are stored in Convika, up to 50 entries a month, with CSV export.

Carrd's paid plan is cheap. The difference is where the signups end up, and whether you pay at all.

Your own domain and a form that keeps signups, free: Convika

Convika hosts landing pages, one HTML page each, with the form and the visitor stats built in. For a waitlist or launch page you'd otherwise put on Carrd Pro, Convika's Free plan includes:

  • Your own subdomain, such as www.yourbrand.com or waitlist.yourbrand.com, with the SSL certificate issued for you. The Free plan connects 1.
  • Commercial use on every plan, Free included, under section 7 of the terms. That covers a client's page you build, host, and bill for.
  • A form that keeps the signups. Click Add a form to my page, and Convika adds a form that stores each entry, emails it to you, and exports to CSV, up to 50 entries a month on Free.
  • 90 days of visitor stats: visits, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, and button clicks.
  • AI clients that publish for you. Claude, Claude Code, and Codex connect to Convika's MCP server and sign in to your account with OAuth, so you never paste a deploy token or API key into the chat. They can read the page's visits and form entries back to you, too.

3 ways to get your page onto Convika

  1. Rebuild it from its link. Paste the address of the page you have now into the free rebuild tool and click Rebuild my page. You don't need an account. Convika reads the page, keeps its colors and fonts, writes a new version from its text, and lists what it changed and why. Click Keep this page to sign up free and move it into your account.
  2. Describe it in the dashboard. Sign up free, click Create with AI, and describe the page, or paste a link to a page it should start from. A new page costs 1 AI credit on the default model, and Free accounts start with 10.
  3. Upload the HTML your AI made. If ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini wrote the page as one HTML file, click Upload an HTML file in the dashboard and add the .html or .htm file, up to 2 MB, or paste its code. Uploading uses no AI credits. The free HTML publishing tool shows you a preview before you sign up.

The Free plan includes 10 pages, with a small “Powered by Convika” badge. Publish your first page and Pro is free for 14 days, no card needed. After that, Pro costs $12 a month and removes the badge and the monthly cap on form entries, or you go back to Free.

Which one to pick

  • You want to design a simple page yourself and pay as little as possible for your own domain: Carrd Pro Standard, billed yearly.
  • You need the signups kept in one place, with your own domain and no fee: Convika's Free plan. Its form stores every entry and exports a CSV.
  • The page already exists as an HTML file from an AI: Convika. Upload the file; Carrd would have you rebuild it in its editor.
