Lovable vs Bolt.new in 2026: free plans, pricing, and publishing compared

Quick answer

Lovable Free includes “5 daily build credits (up to 30 per month)”; Bolt Free “includes 1 million tokens a month, with a daily limit of 300,000” (both read November 4, 2026). Each Pro plan costs $25 a month, and each publishes free to lovable.app or bolt.host. Bolt also builds mobile apps through Expo.

On this page

Lovable's Free plan includes “5 daily build credits (up to 30 per month),” per its FAQ, and Bolt's pricing page says “The Free plan includes 1 million tokens a month, with a daily limit of 300,000,” both read on November 4, 2026. The cheapest paid plan of each is Pro, at $25 a month billed monthly. Lovable publishes for free to a lovable.app address and Bolt to a bolt.host one, and both put your own domain on a paid plan only. What decides most projects is what each one builds and what its free hosting allows. Lovable calls itself “an AI development platform that builds full-stack web applications” and doesn't make native mobile apps; Bolt calls itself “an AI-powered builder for websites, web apps, mobile apps, and prototypes” and makes iPhone and Android apps through Expo. On the free plans, Lovable says “Your plan does not cap visitors or bandwidth,” while Bolt Free counts 10 GB of bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month across the whole account, and past them “your site goes offline for the rest of the month.”

Lovable's and Bolt's pricing pages, docs, help centers, and terms were read on November 4, 2026 (JST). Lovable's Terms of Service are dated August 28, 2026, and the StackBlitz Terms of Service, which cover Bolt, were last updated September 22, 2026. The pricing pages, Lovable's docs, and Bolt's help center carry no date. Prices are in US dollars. Plans change, so check both before you pay.

This page puts the two side by side. Each one has a page of its own with every limit: Is Lovable free?, Can I use Lovable's free plan for a business site?, and Is Bolt.new free?.

The short answer

  • What you build: Both build web apps from a chat, with a database and sign-ins. Bolt also builds mobile apps for the App Store and Google Play through Expo. Lovable “does not generate React Native projects” and points to a home-screen web app or a wrapper such as Capacitor instead.
  • The free allowance: Lovable Free gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Bolt Free gives 300K tokens a day, up to 1M a month. A Lovable credit and a Bolt token are different units, and neither vendor converts one into the other.
  • The first paid plan: Lovable Pro and Bolt Pro each cost $25 a month billed monthly. Billed yearly, Lovable Pro costs $250 a year and Bolt Pro $216 a year. Bolt Lite, a $9-a-month plan from Bolt's Forge preview, took its last sign-ups on October 14, 2026, per Bolt's Forge help.
  • Publishing: Both publish for free with the host's badge, and both need a paid plan for your own domain. Lovable Free can also limit a site to up to 10 invited people; Bolt Free's sites are all public.
  • Traffic on the free plan: Lovable doesn't cap visitors or bandwidth, with one Free limit on newer apps. Bolt Free counts 10 GB and 333,333 requests a month for the whole account, and past them the site goes offline for the rest of the month.
  • The code: Lovable Free syncs it to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket; editing code in Lovable and downloading a .zip start on Pro. Bolt names no plan for its .zip download or GitHub backup, and editing code yourself in Bolt's Code view uses no tokens.

The two meter different work. Lovable's credits docs price a message by “the complexity of the request and the work completed,” with examples from 0.50 credits to make a button gray to 2.00 to build a landing page with images. Bolt's tokens help says “Most of your token usage comes from Bolt reading, understanding, and syncing your project files, so larger projects use more tokens per message.” Neither says how much a whole project takes.

What each free plan can do

The table applies each vendor's pages to common cases. A cell reads Yes where the vendor's pages allow it on the free plan, No where they say it takes a paid plan, and “Yes, no plan named” where the vendor describes the feature without tying it to a plan.

Lovable's one traffic limit on Free applies to apps created from May 13, 2026: 1,000 server requests per project every 10 seconds, such as page loads, and visitors over it see an App temporarily unavailable page “and can try again after a minute.” Bolt's free hosting “typically supports around 10,000–15,000 monthly visits,” per its hosting plans page, and its limits “apply to your Bolt account as a whole, not to individual projects.”

What runs out first on each free plan

Lovable. The 5 daily build credits refresh at 00:00 UTC, and Free caps them at 30 a calendar month. Lovable's own example: “on Free, you receive daily build credits for the first 6 days each month (6 × 5 = 30), then none until the next month starts.” When the credits run out, building stops, and Lovable's out-of-credits page says “Your published site stays live. The pages of your published app keep serving.” What can stop is the backend: Lovable pauses an app's built-in backend “when the monthly Cloud grant and your general credits are both gone,” and “Daily build credits cannot pay for Cloud.” Lovable Free's Cloud grant is 20 credits a month, and on Free the way past it before the month ends is a paid plan.

Bolt. Free runs on 2 limits at once, 300K tokens a day and 1M a month. “Your daily tokens reset every day, but they don't carry over,” and the monthly tokens reset on the 1st. At the daily limit, “you can still make direct edits to your project's existing code for free in Code view.” Bolt's token pages don't say a published site goes down when tokens run out. What takes a Free site offline is hosting: “There's no way to increase these limits, so if you go over this usage, your site goes offline for the rest of the month.”

Spent at each daily limit, Lovable's 30 credits last 6 days and Bolt's 1M tokens 4 (3 days of 300K leave 100K for the 4th). That's arithmetic on the vendors' numbers; how far a day goes depends on the project.

Publishing and custom domains

Lovable. “By default, your app is published to [url-subdomain].lovable.app,” and each publish is a snapshot: changes reach the live site when you open the publish dialog and click Publish changes. “Publishing from the Publish dialog is free and works even when your credit balance is zero,” per the publishing docs; asking Lovable in the chat to publish uses credits. Lovable's pricing page lists “5 lovable.app domains” on Free and “Unlimited lovable.app domains” on Pro. Your own domain takes a paid plan; you can buy one through Lovable or connect one you own, as a root domain or a subdomain. After a downgrade, “Connected custom domains keep serving your app,” but you can't connect a new one on Free. Lovable may unpublish a project in a Free workspace when the app has had no visits for 12 months, the owner hasn't logged in for 12 months, and it has no custom domain.

Bolt. Click Publish, and Bolt deploys the site in about a minute at a random bolt.host name you can change. “After you publish, changes you make to your Bolt project aren't automatically applied to your published site”: click Update to put them live. Bolt's publish help says to “use the Publish or Update button in the Publish menu to publish your site, since these options don't use tokens.” Your own domain takes any paid plan, bought through Bolt or connected. After a downgrade, sites on your domain “stay online. But you won't be able to republish or reconnect a custom domain while on the free plan,” per Bolt's hosting help.

Owning the code and taking it elsewhere

Lovable. Its FAQ says “You do. Your apps, code, and the content you create with Lovable are yours, subject to third-party rights such as open-source licenses.” Its terms say “you own your Customer Data, including the applications, websites, or other projects you build using the Services.” Git sync works on every plan, a .zip download is on paid plans, and the database is exported separately. Apps created from May 13, 2026 use TanStack Start, which runs server code, so another host has to run it; older apps build to static files.

Bolt. Its help says “All code that you create with Bolt and StackBlitz is your own code, which you can use for any legal purpose including commercial purposes.” Section 3.3 of the StackBlitz terms “assigns to you all of its right, title, and interest, if any, in and to the AI Output.” A Bolt project downloads as a .zip that needs Node.js to run, backs up to GitHub with a commit for each working change, or publishes to Netlify from Bolt. It has a build step, so another host has to run the build or take the built folder.

Both may train AI on what you build unless you opt out. Lovable's FAQ says that since September 9, 2026 it may use Free and Pro data, including code and project files, unless you turn off Use my Lovable content for model training. Section 3.5 of the StackBlitz terms covers content created from October 7, 2026, and you may opt out “free of charge and regardless of your plan.”

Commercial use on the free plans

Both free plans allow a business site. Lovable's terms license the service “for your personal or internal business purposes - including to create, deploy, operate, and make available the applications, websites, and other products you build,” and its plan docs set no business-use limit on Free. Bolt's help puts no plan on “any legal purpose including commercial purposes.” On either free plan, a business site stays on the host's address with its badge, and Lovable's terms add that “Lovable retains all ownership rights in the lovable.app domain and all subdomains” and advise custom domains “for mission-critical applications.” Can I use Lovable's free plan for a business site? goes through 10 cases, and Is Bolt.new free? has Bolt's.

Replit, the third builder in the comparison

Replit's free Starter plan gives “daily credits for Agent usage, up to a monthly cap,” per its Starter plan docs, and 1 free published app: “This published link will automatically go down after 30 days.” The published app carries a Made with Replit badge, and removing it requires Core. For a site that stays up, Lovable's and Bolt's free plans keep it published; Replit's Starter link doesn't. Is Replit free for hosting a website? covers Replit's deployments and what they cost.

Which one to pick

  • A web app with sign-ins and a database: Either. Lovable Free includes its built-in backend and Supabase. Bolt Free includes Bolt's own database; Supabase starts on Bolt Pro.
  • A mobile app for the App Store or Google Play: Bolt, through Expo. You still need Apple's and Google's paid developer accounts to put the app in their stores. Lovable builds web apps only.
  • A free site that might get a lot of visitors: Lovable, whose pages keep serving with no cap on visitors or bandwidth. An app on Lovable's built-in backend spends Free's 20 Cloud credits a month as visitors use it, and when they run out, Lovable pauses “the database, storage, and authentication.” On Bolt Free, the site goes offline for the rest of the month once the account passes 10 GB or 333,333 requests.
  • A preview for a client or a few testers, kept private, for free: Lovable's Invite only, up to 10 people per project: “Only people you add can visit the published app, after logging in,” so each of them logs in to Lovable. Bolt's private sites start on Pro.
  • Editing the code by hand without paying: Bolt, whose Code view edits use no tokens. On Lovable Free, edit the code in your own repository through Git sync.
  • A student or teacher: Lovable gives verified students and teachers 50% off Pro with 100 credits a month, for up to 12 months. Bolt's pricing page lists no student price.
  • A team: Lovable prices its plans “by the credits you get each month, not by the number of people in your workspace.” Bolt Teams costs $30 per member a month.
  • One landing or waitlist page on your own domain, with a form: Convika Free, below.

If your project is one landing page: Convika

Convika hosts landing pages, one HTML page each, with a form that keeps entries and stats on who visited. A Lovable or Bolt project doesn't move to Convika as it is: Convika takes one .html or .htm file, up to 2 MB, or pasted code, and an app from either builder is a set of files with a build step. A landing or waitlist page can be one file, and these ways get it onto Convika:

  • Rebuild it from its public link. Paste the public lovable.app or bolt.host link into the free rebuild tool and click Rebuild my page. No signup, email, or card is needed. You get a private preview in your page's colors and fonts, with a list of what changed and why. Click Keep this page to move it into a Free account, then Add a form to my page, then Publish page. Choose Public, click Next, and, the first time, click Publish free.
  • Describe it to Convika's AI. Sign up free, click Create with AI, and describe the page, or paste a link to a page it should start from. Free accounts start with 10 AI credits.
  • Upload one HTML file. If ChatGPT or Claude wrote the page as a single HTML file, click Upload an HTML file and add it, or paste its code. Uploading uses no AI credits. The free HTML publishing tool shows a preview before you sign up.

Section 7 of Convika's terms allows commercial use on every plan, Free included, client pages too. Free includes 1 published page, 1 custom subdomain such as www.yourbrand.com, 50 form entries shown a month with an email for each, 10,000 page views a month, and 90 days of visitor stats, with a small Convika bar at the bottom. Once your pages reach 10,000 page views in a month, editing and analytics pause, and 7 days later the pages stop until the month ends or you upgrade. Pro removes the bar and shows every form entry. Pro costs $12 a month.

Where Lovable or Bolt fits better: an app with sign-ins, a database, payments, or several screens, or a mobile app. Convika hosts each page as one HTML file at its own path, the rebuild writes a new page from your page's text, colors, and fonts rather than copying it, and custom domains are subdomains such as www.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better, Lovable or Bolt?

Neither for every project; it depends on what you build. Bolt builds mobile apps through Expo, and Lovable builds web apps only. Lovable's free hosting doesn't cap visitors or bandwidth, and Bolt Free goes offline for the rest of the month past 10 GB or 333,333 requests. Bolt lets you edit code by hand on Free; Lovable starts code editing on Pro. This page compares only what each vendor's own pages state; neither builder was tested here. Lovable's own Bolt vs Lovable page says Lovable's model “typically requires fewer credits to accomplish the same tasks”; that is Lovable's claim.

Is Lovable or Bolt cheaper?

They cost the same billed monthly: Lovable Pro and Bolt Pro are each $25 a month. Billed yearly, Bolt Pro is cheaper, at $216 a year against Lovable Pro's $250. Lovable gives verified students and teachers 50% off Pro for up to 12 months, and Bolt's pricing page lists no student price.

Which has the better free plan, Lovable or Bolt?

It depends on what you need from it. Lovable Free gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, hosts without a visitor or bandwidth cap, and can also limit a site to up to 10 invited people. Bolt Free gives 300K tokens a day, up to 1M a month, lets you edit code without tokens, and includes Bolt's own database. Credits and tokens are different units, so the allowances can't be compared directly.

Can I use my own domain for free on Lovable or Bolt?

No. Lovable's docs say “Custom domains are available on paid plans,” and Bolt's say “Custom domains aren't available on the Free plan.” On both, the cheapest plan with your own domain is Pro, at $25 a month billed monthly. Both let you buy a domain through them or connect one you own.

Do Lovable and Bolt show a badge on free sites?

Yes. A Lovable Free site shows Edit with Lovable, and a Bolt Free site shows Made in Bolt. Hiding Lovable's badge and removing Bolt's both take a paid plan. If you downgrade later, each badge comes back the next time you publish.

Can Lovable or Bolt build a mobile app?

Bolt can; Lovable can't build a native one. Bolt's help says it builds iPhone and Android apps with Expo and publishes them to the App Store and Google Play, with Apple's and Google's paid developer accounts. Lovable's FAQ answers “Not as native apps”: it builds web apps you can add to a home screen, or wrap with a tool such as Capacitor outside Lovable.

Can I export my code from Lovable or Bolt for free?

Yes. On Lovable Free, Git sync keeps the project in a GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket repository; the .zip download starts on Pro. Bolt names no plan for downloading a .zip or backing up to GitHub. Both projects have a build step, so the new host has to run it.

Can I use Lovable or Bolt for commercial projects?

Yes, on the free plans too. Lovable's terms license it “for your personal or internal business purposes,” including to “make available the applications, websites, and other products you build,” and Bolt's help says your code is yours “for any legal purpose including commercial purposes.” On Free, the site keeps the host's badge and address.

Does Lovable or Bolt use Supabase?

Both can. Lovable's built-in backend “utilizes Supabase's open-source foundation,” and connecting your own Supabase account is “available on all plans.” Bolt uses its own database by default on every plan, and connecting Supabase “requires a Pro or Teams plan.”

Is Replit free like Lovable and Bolt?

Yes, but its free link expires. Replit's Starter plan gives 1 free published app, and “This published link will automatically go down after 30 days.” Lovable's and Bolt's free plans keep a published site up, within their limits. Is Replit free for hosting a website? explains Replit's paid deployments.
