ChatGPT Sites alternatives: 5 ways to host a ChatGPT page on Free or Go
Short answer
ChatGPT Sites builds and hosts a website from the chat, in public beta on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu. It isn't available on Free or Go. On those plans, ask ChatGPT for the page as one HTML file, download it, and upload it to a host. Netlify Drop and GitHub Pages host it free. Convika's Free plan hosts it too, keeps the form entries, shows which sites sent your visitors, and connects 1 subdomain of your own, for 10 pages, and 50 form entries a month, with a small badge.
Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 50 form entries a month.
ChatGPT Sites is OpenAI's way to build a website in ChatGPT and host it there, without moving any files. It isn't on the Free or Go plans. On those plans, ChatGPT can still write the whole page; you put the file online somewhere else. You'd do the same on any plan when you want the page's form entries and traffic sources on a host you choose.
This page covers what Sites does, which plans have it, and how to get the page out of ChatGPT. Then it compares Sites with 5 hosts that take the file, on what a page needs once it's live: your own domain, a form that keeps entries, and visitor stats. Convika, which publishes this page, is one of the 5. OpenAI's details come from its own docs, read on October 5, 2026. The other hosts' details come from their pricing pages and docs, checked on October 4 and 5, 2026. Sites is in public beta, so check OpenAI's docs before you decide.
What ChatGPT Sites does, and which plans have it
OpenAI's Sites docs say Sites “lets ChatGPT create, host, refine, and share websites, web apps, and games.” In ChatGPT on the web or in the desktop app, you include the word “website” in your prompt or mention @Sites, review the preview, ask for changes, and publish to a ChatGPT-hosted address. Here's what the docs say about the rest:
- Plans. “Sites is in public beta and is available with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.” OpenAI's help center adds that Sites isn't available on Free or Go. Availability also “depends on your plan, region, and workspace settings” (OpenAI's pricing docs).
- Cost. Sites is “included with eligible ChatGPT plans during public beta.” Plan-specific usage limits apply, and reaching one “can prevent you from creating a Site, adding storage, or keeping a high-usage Site public.”
- Saved data. A Site can keep records, such as what visitors submit, in a D1 database of up to 10 GB, and files in R2 object storage, which has no fixed limit.
- Visitor stats. Sites records traffic with no script to add. “The analytics view shows total unique visitors and page views, plus both metrics over time.” Analytics is currently available for Sites that an Enterprise workspace doesn't own.
- Your own domain. “Where custom domains are available,” you can connect an apex domain or a subdomain you already own. Sites doesn't register domains, so you need to be able to change the domain's DNS records. Custom domains “aren't available in Enterprise workspaces at launch.”
- Who can open it. A new Site is limited to you and your workspace admins until you change its access. The options go from people you invite up to “Anyone on the internet, only when public publishing is enabled.”
If you pay for one of those plans and want ChatGPT to build and change the site for you, Sites is the shortest route. The cases where it beats every alternative are in when ChatGPT Sites is the better choice.
Put a ChatGPT page online without Sites
1. Get the page out of ChatGPT as one HTML file
In a regular chat, on every plan, ChatGPT can write the whole page as code. Ask: “Put the whole page in one HTML file, with the CSS and JavaScript inline, as a file I can download.” Download the .html file, or copy all of the code from the code block. If you plan to host on Convika and the page has a form, first ask: “Replace the form with <div data-convika-form></div>.” That marks where a working form goes later.
2. Pick a host
The table below compares 5 hosts with Sites. Each host takes a single HTML file, whichever ChatGPT plan you're on. If the page has a form, pick a host that stores entries, or plan to add a form service.
3. Upload the file and publish
The box above puts the page on a private Convika preview link in seconds, with no signup. The link works for 7 days, and the page's scripts and forms stay off until you keep it. The same box is on the free HTML publishing tool page. To publish, sign up free, click Upload an HTML file in the dashboard, and drop the file (.html or .htm, up to 2 MB) or paste the code. Click Create my preview, check the page, and click Publish. Uploading uses no AI credits. How to put a ChatGPT HTML page online has every step, including the form and your own domain.
For the other hosts: drop the file at app.netlify.com/drop and sign in to claim it; add it to a public GitHub repository as index.html and publish from a branch; or put it in a folder and drag the folder into a new Cloudflare Pages project.
ChatGPT Sites and 5 alternatives compared
| Option | What you need | Your own domain | Form that keeps entries, and where you read them | Visitor stats, and what they show | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Sites | ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu; not Free or Go | An apex domain or subdomain you own, where available; not in Enterprise workspaces at launch | Ask ChatGPT to build one. Entries save to the Site's D1 database (up to 10 GB), and ChatGPT can add a page that lists them | Unique visitors and pageviews, and both over time; not for Sites an Enterprise workspace owns | Included in those plans during the beta, within plan usage limits |
| GitHub Pages | Any ChatGPT plan; a free GitHub account and a public repository | Yes, including a bare domain such as yourbrand.com | No | No | Free, but not for running a business, a store, or SaaS |
| Netlify Drop | Any ChatGPT plan; a free Netlify account to claim the URL | Yes | Yes, unlimited, after you turn on form detection, add data-netlify="true" to the form, and drop the file again; read them in the project's Forms tab or download a CSV | Web Analytics: pageviews, unique visitors, and top sources, kept for 1 day | Free with 300 credits a month; every project pauses when they run out |
| Cloudflare Pages | Any ChatGPT plan; a free Cloudflare account; the file goes in a folder or zip | Yes, up to 100 per project | No; a plugin passes entries to code you write | Web Analytics, free: visits, pageviews, referrers, countries, and devices | Free, with unlimited requests to static files |
| Tiiny Host | Any ChatGPT plan; a free Tiiny Host account, 1 project | From Solo, $18 a month | Email capture from Pro, $38 a month | From Tiny, $9 a month | Free with a Tiiny Host banner, 3 MB, and 5,000 visits a month |
| Convika | Any ChatGPT plan; a free Convika account | 1 subdomain on Free, such as www.yourbrand.com | Yes, 50 a month on Free. Read them under Forms in the dashboard, export a CSV, and get an email for each | Visits, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, button clicks, and form entries, for 90 days | Free with a small badge, or Pro at $12 a month |
What to watch for with each:
- ChatGPT Sites: it's a public beta, and a plan's usage limits can stop a high-usage Site from staying public. Every deployment URL is a production deployment, so ask ChatGPT to save a version without deploying it when you want to review first.
- GitHub Pages: on GitHub Free the repository must be public, so anyone can read your HTML. GitHub's usage limits rule out running “your online business, e-commerce site,” or SaaS on it.
- Netlify Drop: if you drop the file without signing in, the URL stays behind a temporary password until you claim it. Teams created on or after July 28, 2026 start projects private, so select Make public after claiming. A production deploy costs 15 credits.
- Cloudflare Pages: there's no form without code, and Cloudflare's Pages docs now say “Start new projects with Workers.”
- Tiiny Host: free pages show a Tiiny Host banner, and free links stay online as long as you sign in at least every 3 months.
- Convika: free pages show a small “Powered by Convika” badge. Custom domains must be subdomains like
www. Each page is one HTML document, so images need fullhttps://links. Analytics tools such as Google Analytics send data only on Pro.
When ChatGPT Sites is the better choice
Sites fits better than any host here when:
- You pay for Plus, Pro, or a workspace plan and want ChatGPT to make every change. You describe the edit in ChatGPT and publish again. There's no file to download and upload each time.
- The site is an app, not a page. Sites can keep saved records and user progress in D1, store uploaded files in R2, and add Sign in with ChatGPT. In a workspace where plugins are turned on, a private Site can show each visitor data from their own connected apps. Convika hosts one HTML page per site, with a form and stats but no login.
- Only your team should open it. Depending on your plan and workspace settings, a Site can be limited to your workspace, to chosen people or groups, or to people you invite from outside.
- You want a bare domain like
yourbrand.com. Sites connects an apex domain where custom domains are available. Convika connects subdomains only.
Convika fits the other cases: you're on Free or Go, you'd rather keep the HTML file and edit it yourself or in another AI than in ChatGPT, or you want the form entries, the sites that sent your visitors, and your UTM campaigns in one dashboard on a free plan.
Which one to pick
- You're on ChatGPT Free or Go and need a link today: Netlify Drop. Sign in to claim the page and make it public.
- The page collects signups or inquiries, and you want to see where visitors came from: Convika's Free plan, then Pro at $12 a month past 50 entries a month.
- It's a personal, non-commercial page and you're comfortable with Git: GitHub Pages.
- You expect a lot of traffic and will add a form service: Cloudflare Pages. How to make the form on your AI-made page work compares Formspree, Netlify Forms, and Google Forms.
- You pay for Plus or Pro and want ChatGPT to build and run the site: ChatGPT Sites.
More hosts, including Vercel, Google Sites, and Carrd, are compared in free landing page hosting with a form and Tiiny Host alternatives.
Frequently asked questions
Is ChatGPT Sites available on the Free or Go plan?
No. OpenAI's docs list Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu for the public beta, and its help center says Sites isn't available on Free or Go. Availability also depends on your region and workspace settings. On Free or Go, ask ChatGPT for the page as one HTML file and upload it to a host such as Netlify Drop, GitHub Pages, or Convika.
Can I put a page ChatGPT made on my own domain without paying for hosting?
Yes. You pay a registrar for the domain, and the hosting can be free. On Plus, Pro, or a workspace plan, ChatGPT Sites connects an apex domain or a subdomain you own, where custom domains are available. On any plan, GitHub Pages connects a bare domain, though not for running a business, and Convika's Free plan connects 1 subdomain such as www.yourbrand.com with a CNAME and a TXT record.
Is there a ChatGPT app that can publish a website for me?
Yes, ChatGPT Sites, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu. On Free or Go, ChatGPT writes the page in the chat but doesn't host it, so you upload the file to a host. Convika isn't in ChatGPT's plugin directory. Claude, Claude Code, and Codex can save and publish pages to Convika directly through its MCP server.
What visitor stats does ChatGPT Sites show?
OpenAI's docs say the analytics view “shows total unique visitors and page views, plus both metrics over time,” with no script to add. You open it from More actions > Analytics on the Site, and it's currently available for Sites that an Enterprise workspace doesn't own. For comparison, Cloudflare Web Analytics shows visits, pageviews, referrers, countries, and devices, and Convika shows visits, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, button clicks, and form entries.
How much does ChatGPT Sites cost?
During the public beta, Sites is included with the plans that have it, within plan-specific usage limits. Reaching a limit can stop you from creating a Site, adding storage, or keeping a high-usage Site public. You can still edit and manage the Sites you have.
Does Convika work with pages from Claude or Gemini?
Yes. Convika hosts the HTML file whichever AI wrote it. See how to publish a Claude artifact and how to publish a Gemini Canvas page.
What does Convika's Free plan include?
10 pages, 10,000 pageviews a month, 50 form entries a month, 1 custom subdomain, 90 days of visitor stats, and a “Powered by Convika” badge, with no credit card. Uploading a file uses no AI credits. Pro costs $12 a month after a 14-day free trial and removes the badge and the form cap.
