Is Canva free for websites? What Canva Free can publish

Short answer

Yes. Canva Free publishes up to 5 websites on my.canva.site addresses with a “Designed with Canva” footer, and connecting a domain you already own takes Canva Pro at $144 a year; Canva's purchase help says any plan can publish to a domain bought through Canva. For a landing or waitlist page, Convika's Free plan connects a subdomain of the domain you already have, such as www, with a form that keeps signups and 90 days of visitor stats.

Create my landing page free

Free plan: no credit card, 10 pages, 1 custom subdomain.

Canva's help center says it plainly: “Canva Free, Canva Pro, Canva Teams, and Canva Education users can publish websites for free.” A design you make in Canva can go live as a website from the free plan, on Canva's own address. The questions start with the address: whether your own domain works, and what a free site shows and measures.

Can you use your own domain with Canva Free?

It depends on where the domain comes from.

  • A domain you already own: not on Free. Canva's help center says of connecting one: “This is available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Business, and Canva Education users.” The cheapest of those plans is Canva Pro, at $144 a year for one person, or $18 a month. On Pro, “Canva Pro, Canva Teams, and Canva Business users can connect up to five existing (5) domains at a time.”
  • A domain you buy through Canva: Canva's domain purchase help says “All users can publish unlimited websites to every domain purchased via Canva.” and “Prices vary by extension and are billed annually.” Its websites overview, though, says “However, using a custom domain and publishing unlimited websites is only available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, and Canva Education users.” Check what the Publish panel offers before you buy a domain for a free site.

If your business already has a domain, and you want the page at www or launch on it, that's the Pro case.

Do Canva websites have forms?

Yes. Canva Forms are an element you add to a design, and the same help article covers forms on websites. It sets the size: “You can add up to 10 questions per form.” You read the responses in Canva, and to take them elsewhere, “Select More, then Download as CSV to download the response data.” Each response sends an email to the form's owner, and no one else.

On a website, Canva adds one condition: “On Canva Websites, responses are always anonymous. Names can't be collected.”

Visitor stats and commercial use

  • Visitor stats: none on Free. “Canva Website Insights is available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, and Canva Education users who have edit access to the website design.” On Pro, the stats are Website Insights, which use no cookies or IP tracking.
  • Commercial use: Canva's content license lets you use designs in “advertising and promotional projects, including printed materials, product packaging, presentations, film and video presentations, commercials, catalogues, brochures, greeting cards and postcards for promotion and/or resale, without any reproduction quantity limit”, and in “online or electronic publications, including web pages”.

The Free plan's other limits

  • Sites: “Canva Free users can have up to five live websites on the free domain.”
  • Sections: “Canva Free users can design with up to 20 sections per page, but can only publish a website with up to 10 sections per page”
  • Pages: “Multi-page websites support up to 45 pages”
  • An HTML file you already have: Canva imports it as a design rather than publishing it as it is. Its help center says “Other HTML files import as Code designs.” and “JavaScript functionality isn't supported in imported designs.”

Canva's help center says “If you're a Canva Free user, a 'Designed with Canva' footer will appear at the bottom of your published website.” It adds “This footer includes Canva's Privacy Policy and can't be removed on a Free plan.” Canva Pro removes it: “To publish without the footer, upgrade to Canva Pro.”

In a check on October 12, 2026, of 2 waitlist pages published on my.canva.site, loaded without an account, the HTML is an empty page that Canva's JavaScript fills in. In a browser, each ends with Canva's footer: links to terms and support and the privacy policy, and a Canva logo linking to canva.com. Neither page uses a form for its waitlist. One sends visitors to a Tally form and the other to a Kit signup page, so the signups land outside Canva.

A year on your own domain: Canva or Convika

For a waitlist page at www.yourbrand.com, a domain you already own, for 12 months:

  • Canva Pro: $144 for the year, which also covers the rest of Canva Pro.
  • Convika Free: $0. The page connects as a subdomain such as www, and the form stores up to 50 entries a month.

A domain bought new through Canva costs its yearly registration. Canva's purchase help says any plan can publish to it; check the Publish panel before buying.

The domain you already own, free: Convika

Convika hosts landing pages, one HTML page each, with the form and the visitor stats built in. For a launch or waitlist page on a domain your business already has, Convika's Free plan includes:

  • Your own subdomain, such as www.yourbrand.com or waitlist.yourbrand.com, with the SSL certificate issued for you. The Free plan connects 1.
  • Commercial use on every plan, Free included, under section 7 of the terms. That covers a client's page you build, host, and bill for.
  • A form that keeps the signups. Click Add a form to my page, and Convika adds a form that stores each entry, emails it to you, and exports to CSV, up to 50 entries a month on Free.
  • 90 days of visitor stats: visits, referrers, UTM campaigns, devices, countries, and button clicks.
  • AI clients that publish for you. Claude, Claude Code, and Codex connect to Convika's MCP server and sign in to your account with OAuth, so you never paste a deploy token or API key into the chat. They can read the page's visits and form entries back to you, too.

3 ways to get your page onto Convika

  1. Rebuild it from its link. Paste the address of the page you have now into the free rebuild tool and click Rebuild my page. You don't need an account. Convika reads the page, keeps its colors and fonts, writes a new version from its text, and lists what it changed and why. Click Keep this page to sign up free and move it into your account.
  2. Describe it in the dashboard. Sign up free, click Create with AI, and describe the page, or paste a link to a page it should start from. A new page costs 1 AI credit on the default model, and Free accounts start with 10.
  3. Upload the HTML your AI made. If ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini wrote the page as one HTML file, click Upload an HTML file in the dashboard and add the .html or .htm file, up to 2 MB, or paste its code. Uploading uses no AI credits. The free HTML publishing tool shows you a preview before you sign up.

The Free plan includes 10 pages, with a small “Powered by Convika” badge. Publish your first page and Pro is free for 14 days, no card needed. After that, Pro costs $12 a month and removes the badge and the monthly cap on form entries, or you go back to Free.

Where Canva fits better: designing a multi-page site visually, next to the rest of your Canva designs.

Which one to pick

  • You design everything in Canva and want the site next to your other designs: Canva. Free publishes on my.canva.site; Pro adds a domain you already own and Website Insights.
  • A landing or waitlist page on the domain your business already uses, with no monthly fee: Convika's Free plan, with a form that stores signups and stats on where visitors came from.
  • A page an AI already wrote as HTML: Convika. Upload the file as it is; Canva would import it as an editable design without its JavaScript.

Frequently asked questions

Is Canva free for websites?

Yes. Canva Free publishes up to 5 websites on my.canva.site addresses, each with a “Designed with Canva” footer. Canva Pro, at $144 a year, removes the footer, publishes unlimited sites, connects a domain you already own, and adds Website Insights.

Is Canva website hosting free?

Yes, on the free my.canva.site address, for up to 5 live sites on Canva Free. Connecting a domain you already own takes Canva Pro or another paid plan. Canva's purchase help says a domain bought through Canva works on any plan, but its websites overview lists custom domains under Pro, so check the Publish panel before buying.

Can I use a custom domain on Canva for free?

Not a domain you already own: connecting one takes Canva Pro, Teams, Business, or Education. For a domain bought through Canva, billed yearly, Canva's purchase help says every user can publish to it, while its websites overview lists custom domains under Pro; check the Publish panel before buying. For a single landing page, Convika's Free plan connects 1 subdomain of a domain you own, such as www.yourbrand.com, at no cost.

How much does a custom domain cost on Canva?

There are 2 costs. Connecting a domain you already own takes Canva Pro, at $144 a year or $18 a month. Buying a domain through Canva costs the domain's yearly price, which Canva says varies by extension. Canva's purchase help says any plan can publish to it; check the Publish panel before buying.

Do you need Canva Pro for a custom domain?

For a domain you already own, yes: Pro is the cheapest plan that connects one. Canva's help center says “Canva Pro, Canva Teams, and Canva Business users can connect up to five existing (5) domains at a time.” For a domain you buy through Canva, Canva's purchase help says Free works too; check the Publish panel before buying.

Is a Canva website free or paid?

Free to publish on my.canva.site, with Canva's footer, a limit of 5 live sites, and up to 10 sections per page once published. Paid plans remove the footer and the site limit, and add your own domain and Website Insights.

Can a Canva website have a form?

Yes. Add a Canva Form to the website design. Responses stay in Canva, where you can download them as a CSV, and the form's owner gets an email for each one. On a website, Canva keeps every response anonymous.
