How to make a waitlist landing page for free
Short answer
A waitlist page needs 4 things: a promise people understand in one line, one email field, somewhere that stores the signups, and a way to see which link sent them. With Convika connected to Claude, you describe the product, check a private preview, and publish. The Free plan stores 50 signups a month; Pro removes the cap.
Free plan: no credit card, 50 signups a month, CSV export.
A waitlist page answers one question before your product exists: does anyone want this? It only answers it if the signups are stored somewhere you can export, and if you know which post, ad, or newsletter sent them. This guide builds that page with Claude and Convika, free.
What a waitlist page needs
Most waitlist pages that work are short. Keep these and cut the rest:
- A headline that names the outcome and the audience. “Receipts filed from your inbox, for freelancers” beats “The future of expense tracking.”
- One field. Email is enough. Add a second field, such as role or company size, only if you'll segment the launch email by it.
- A button that says what happens. “Join the waitlist” or “Get early access,” not “Submit.”
- A thank-you message that sets expectations. For example: “You're on the list. We'll email you once, at launch.”
- Storage you can export. A form that emails you each entry isn't a list. You want a table you can download as a CSV.
- Source tracking. Add UTM tags to every link you share, such as
?utm_source=x&utm_campaign=launch, so you can see which channel actually converts.
Build it with Claude and Convika in 5 steps
Create a free Convika account and connect Claude
Sign up at app.convika.com, no card needed. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and enter https://mcp.convika.com. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http convika https://mcp.convika.com. Codex and other MCP clients take the same URL.
Describe the product in one message
Give Claude the facts it can't guess:
Make a waitlist page for Tidy, an app that files receipts from your inbox into folders by client. Audience: freelancers who invoice monthly. One email field with a “Join the waitlist” button. After signup, show “You're on the list. We'll email you once, at launch.” Save it to Convika and give me a preview link.
Claude writes the page, creates the signup form in Convika, and returns a private preview URL.
Check the preview
Open the link on your phone as well as your laptop. Ask for changes in plain words: “Make the headline shorter,” “Move the form above the screenshot.” Every change is saved as a new version. Signups sent from the preview are checked but not stored, so test entries stay out of your list.
Publish and share tagged links
Say “Publish it.” The page goes live at an address like tidy.convika.com, or connect your own subdomain such as www.yourproduct.com with one CNAME record. Share a different UTM-tagged link in each place you post.
Read the results and export the list
After a few days, ask Claude: “How many signups so far, and which source converted best?” Convika reports visits, sources, devices, button clicks, and form submissions. Download the list as a CSV from the Convika dashboard, or ask Claude to export it.
What Convika doesn't do
Dedicated waitlist tools add features Convika doesn't have: referral leaderboards, a “you're #312 in line” position, and automatic confirmation emails to each signup. If your launch depends on referrals, use one of those. If you need a fast page, a clean list, and to know which channel works, Convika covers it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a waitlist page for free?
Yes. Convika's Free plan needs no card and includes 10 pages, 50 form submissions a month, 1 custom domain, and built-in analytics. Pages show a small “Powered by Convika” badge. Pro costs $12 a month after a 14-day free trial and removes the badge and the submission cap.
What happens after 50 signups in a month on Free?
The Free plan stores up to 50 form submissions a month. If your waitlist is growing faster than that, upgrade to Pro, which has no cap on submissions.
How do I export the waitlist?
Open the form's submissions in the Convika dashboard and download them as a CSV, or ask Claude to export them. JSON export is also available.
Can I see which posts or ads brought signups?
Yes, if your links carry UTM tags. Convika groups visits and signups by source, referrer, and UTM campaign, and Claude can compare them for you.
Do I need Claude?
Not for the page itself. Convika's built-in AI drafts a page in the dashboard from your product URL or a short description; a new page costs 1 AI credit on the default model, and you start with 10. The signup form is added through Claude, Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP client connected to Convika, which is why this guide uses Claude throughout.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Free includes 1 custom domain and Pro has no limit. Use a subdomain such as www.yourproduct.com or waitlist.yourproduct.com; Convika gives you the CNAME record and issues the SSL certificate.
